Dear Mr. Bell:

NSF has informed us, unofficially, that they will probably support the Dialnet
proposal and that we should be able to start in about 2 months.
Enclosed is the latest write-up on Dialnet, not much changed from what you
have previously seen.

When we are ready to start, we will be in touch with you again.  My present
idea is to implement Dialnet in LOTS in a way that is compatable with DECNET
and can be readily transferred to other computers.  This will require
cooperation from DEC.
